Lilies
Lilies grow in the most filthy places, yet retain none of its surrounding, and is thus a noble flower. A traditional depiction with a mystical feel, this painting captures the lilies amongst watery greenery.
Yuping Guo was born in a picturesque town in Sichuan province in 1957.
In an environment enriched with history and artistry, Yuping began his training in calligraphy and painting, receiving instruction starting at the age of six.
Yuping's art shows marks of a variety of influences; facial mask painting used in Chinese opera, the Yi People (a minority group of China) and, somewhat predominantly, the old traditions of Chinese watercolor painting.
